Coupon bonds for the Western Railroad, 1868-1888.

Pursuant to St 1868, c 319, the state treasurer was authorized to issue and deliver certificates of debt to commissioners of the Western Railroad sinking fund to enable the Western Railroad Corporation to pay outstanding scrip issued in aid of the construction of the railroad. Coupon certificates, issued in 1868 and valued at 1,000 pounds sterling, were due at the banking house of Baring Brothers in London on July 1, 1888 with interest paid at five percent per annum.
